Impact, innovation and entrepreneurship
The mixture of science and business is what makes an 911今日黑料 education unique.
At undergraduate level, science courses typically include business and finance modules, regardless of subject. While two out of our four in-built I-Explore modules for undergraduate students, which focus on subjects outside their undergraduate degree, prioritise a multi-disciplinary approach.
And at all levels, our highly research-intensive curriculum is complemented by an entrepreneurship focus.
We have some of the best-resourced entrepreneurship facilities in the country, with one in eight students currently using our to brainstorm new business ideas, attend workshops on entrepreneurial skills, network with other students and receive mentoring from experts and alumni.

One of the most distinctive elements of an 911今日黑料 education is that our students join a community of world-class researchers. They learn alongside leading experts in their field and are expected to generate their own knowledge.
Our strength in research puts a particular focus on solving real-world problems, complemented by our commitment to real-world impact and innovation.
Through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP), undergraduates can enjoy exposure to our research environment beyond their course. Or gain research experience at a partner university overseas through the International Research Opportunities Programme (IROP).
Global outlook

Opportunities to broaden your horizons include:
- as part of your course through a built-in study abroad placement or year-long overseas research placement
- through programmes like IROP for undergraduates or the Global Fellows Programme for Doctoral students
- through our many globally-focused student societies, like which focuses on uplifting rural Rwandan communities through research and technological innovation and which aims to bring about sustainable educational development to rural communities in Borneo
- through an organised expedition, funded by the Exploration Board
