Professor Cecilia Mattevi appointed Associate Editor for leading nanoscience journals

Professor Cecilia Mattevi from the Department of Materials has been appointed Associate Editor for Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances, strengthening her role in shaping research across the global nanoscience community.

The journals Nanoscale and  play a key role in publishing high-quality research across nanoscience and nanotechnology, bringing together experimental and theoretical work from disciplines including chemistry, physics, materials science, biology and engineering, and connecting fundamental science with emerging technologies. 

In her new role, Professor Mattevi will contribute to the editorial direction of both journals.

Professor Mattevi said the combination of scientific leadership and community service was a key motivation for taking on the role, noting the strong reputation and broad scope of both journals and their influence across several areas of nanotechnology. 

She added: “It is an honour to be appointed as an Associate Editor for Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances. It reinforces my commitment to advancing high-quality research in nanoscience and nanotechnologies and allows me to contribute supporting and shaping emerging trends within the discipline.” 

Professor Mattevi also emphasised the importance of engaging with a wide range of research areas through the role. 

“I was also interested in the opportunity to work closely diverse fields, from nanomaterials synthesis and design to applications in energy, and electronics,” she said.
