CLCC Undergraduate Prizes announced

We can now confirm the winners of the Acland Prizes and Presidents Prize 2025-26

The Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication is pleased to announce that the following students have been awarded prizes for their undergraduate work over the past academic year, 2023-2024. We congratulate the prize-winners for their outstanding contribution to CLCC undergraduate programmes.

Rachel Hopkins (winner)	Medicine	BSL Level 2	Member of SignSoc. Organising conference with other students from several institutions. Supporting the design of video materials for BSL. Advocating for inclusivity in IC and applying it outside. Industry inclusivity. Working with patients.
Aimma Shahzad (nominee)	Medicine	French Level 5	Consistently high results. 100% attendance to levels 4 and 5. Critical perspective, sharp communicator. High achieving overall: consistently outstanding performance.
Ben Halliday (nominee)	Chemistry w/Research Abroad	German Level 6	Student flourishing: linguistically but also identity. Enthusiasm for the language and culture. Literature, creative application to his writing – presentation about sociopolitical subjects. Acland spirit: creativity, originality, not proficiency. Will research in Munich. Sustained dedication.
