As well as our own investigations, REACT continues to be a valuable source of data for other studies, ethically approved (for example, by a NHS Research Ethics Committee) and subject to approval by the REACT Data Access Committee. We are delighted to report that your data have already contributed to over 75 publications in scientific journals.
Read the summaries below and click on the links on the right hand side of the page to find out more about these further research studies.
Dementia Trials Accelerator (DTA)
Starting in February 2026, REACT Study participants between the ages of 50 and 90 may be invited to join the DTA. This is a new initiative which connects people with researchers running studies to prevent, slow or treat dementia. You’ll be asked to complete some online tasks at home and to attend a clinic for a blood test and other measurements, for which you will receive some results. After joining DTA if you’re matched to a future study you’ll be contacted with further information to see if you wish to take part.
Effects of technology on cognitive ability in youth
Children and young people who took part in the REACT study will be invited to take part in a large-scale online research programme starting in Spring 2026. This is investigating how everyday use of digital technology relates to cognitive, emotional, and social development in children and young people. Participation is fully online and involves questionnaires and short tasks that assess memory, attention, thinking skills, wellbeing, education, lifestyle, and technology use.
Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Study (IAQM)
If you live in London, you may be invited to complete a survey of your home environment to explore the impact of environmental factors on Long COVID and other health outcomes. You may also be invited to place a monitoring device in your home to measure indoor air quality. Everyone who participates will have the opportunity to attend an online workshop to learn more about this research including the study results.
