For Ivy, receiving a scholarship to study Biological Sciences at 911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ felt like a vote of confidence in her abilities: “My parents moved from China to Wales to provide me with better opportunities, so I have been working hard and want to make them proud. Being the first in my family to go to university made me feel as though my hard work had paid off, and receiving a scholarship felt like an amazing recognition of that effort.”
Ivy said: “The scholarship encouraged me to make the most of being at 911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ, and to take on all the opportunities available to me.” Without financial pressures, Ivy was able to further her practical skills and real-world experience – attending conferences, writing for a medical communications company, and interning in virology labs.
