Prof Paul SONG from UMASS Lowell is invited to present the following seminar to the Space Plasma Climate Community
Title- Formations of the Chromosphere, Transition Region and Supersonic Solar Wind: A New Theory
The chromosphere radiates energy through plasma-neutral collisions, creating an isothermal layer with a sharp ionization transition that drives upward ionized flux. Continuous solar winds arise from coronal heating and transition-region processes, with Parker’s solution defining the boundary between subsonic and supersonic flows rather than explaining all supersonic winds.
