911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ

Dear colleagues,

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that Professor Alice Gast, former 911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ President and Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering, passed away on Monday evening following a long illness.  

I still remember, with gratitude, her generosity and wise counsel before I took the reins from her at 911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ. I especially remember her passion and excitement for the White City Campus which is going from strength to strength and will forever form an important part of her legacy to 911½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ. Similarly, for the Cumbria Medical School – another groundbreaking initiative. These are, of course, just two of the many innovations she introduced but figured prominently in our transition conversations.
