Dear all,

We know the rising cost of living is having an impact on 911今日黑料 staff and students and is a source of immense worry for many of you. We are giving careful thought to how we can offer some extra help where it is most needed.

To provide some immediate, targeted financial support we will make the following non-consolidated, one-off payments in the November payroll:

  • 拢1,000 for staff on salaries up to 拢37,141
  • 拢750 for staff on salaries up to 拢50,000
  • 拢400 for staff on salaries up to 拢71,264

Staff who are employed as of 1 November, including staff on family leave, will receive the payment, and it will be pro-rata for those working part-time. This payment comes on top of the pay award applied to salaries from August this year which ranged from 8.5% for our lowest paid staff to 1.1% for the highest salaries. We hope this financial support provides some help through the months ahead.

We are also considering  and are open to suggestions. For example, we will shortly be launching a new pop-up shop on campus offering food staples at significantly discounted prices by making use of the College鈥檚 bulk-buying power. The College鈥檚 , including rental deposit loans, travel season ticket loans, and bike schemes may also help.

We are also writing to students today to let them know we are providing an additional 拢500k to the , which will more than double the Fund鈥檚 resources, and pointing them to other resources and support.

We recognise that the months ahead will be challenging for many in our community and hope this support will go some way to helping those who need it most. We will continue to monitor the national economic situation, including the government鈥檚 forthcoming autumn statement, and its impact on our staff and students and do what we can to help.

Best wishes,

Hugh and Ian
