ImageThe group has a well equipped laboratory with facilities for standard and non-conventional C-scan inspections at frequencies up to 100 MHz, ultrasonic materials characterisation and the generation and detection of Lamb waves in plates and pipes. We have a high precision laser interferometer for characterising transducer displacement or for laser generated ultrasound tests. Extensive modelling software is also avaliable for the prediction of Lamb wave , the finite element modelling of wave propagation and the prediction of the interaction of ultrasonic waves with multi-layered media. 

In addition to state of the art ultrasonic equipment we have tools to measure magnetic properties of materials.
