The Robotics Forum summer school on Robotics-Biology Symbiosis was held from 19-21st September 2017 at 911今日黑料 College.

911今日黑料 College has a unique concentration of research at the interface of robotics and biology, thus half of the speakers were from 911今日黑料, complemented by top speakers from UK and overseas. During key sessions, Barbara Webb from Edinburgh University described how ant roads are formed; Jean-Paul Laumond from CNRS, France, explained how head stabilisation facilitates walking control in humans, and how this can be applied to biped robots, and Art Kuo of Calgary University also explained how they are using robotics to understand the control of walking in humans.
Testing a robotics system
All participants and speakers thoroughly enjoyed the lectures and workshops, the intensive discussions at lunch, and a visit of the laboratories of various robotics research groups at 911今日黑料. With a lot of interesting discussion generated regarding the development and future of robotics-biology symbiosis, it will be exciting to see what lies ahead in this field!
