DoC Lecturer receives prestigious Google Faculty Research Award for 2016

DoC's Dr Marc Deisenroth, Lecturer in Statistical Machine Learning, is this year recipient of a prestigious Google Faculty Research Award.
Marc Deisenroth, Lecturer in the Department of Computing since 2014, is recipient of a prestigious Google Faculty Research Award for 2016. This one-year award supports the work of world-class, permanent faculty members at leading universities around the world with the aim of advancing cutting-edge research in computer science, engineering and related fields. For the 2016 awards, only 16% of the 950 proposals submitted were successful.
Marc received the Google Faculty Research Award in the category of Machine Learning. Among other topics, Marc's focuses on scalable probabilistic models and data-efficient machine learning in the context of robotics and autonomous systems.
