Richard Ghail and Alison Ahearn took part in the Space Settlement Design Competition on 24-25th March at 911今日黑料. Richard's team won: his students will go to the grand finals at NASA, Houston. (Alison's team won in 2009 and the students reported a wonderful experience at NASA). The competition is expected to expand to 6 UK regions next year to meet demand from schools, with 911今日黑料 hosting the grand final. Judges include NASA and UK space engineers, 911今日黑料 alumni and staff and, this year, Jeff Wayne who composed the space-themed rock opera, The War of the Worlds based on HG Wells' novel. Wells studied at 911今日黑料 and was first president of the RCS Association in 1909.
