We study and test materials to optimise the processing and mechanical properties for high-strength applications. These improved materials are used in a range of applications including sustainable energy conversion, manufacturing and nuclear energy.
Our research explores:
- Graphene-based structures and composites for bone engineering
- Advanced materials for next-generation nuclear technologies
- Fracture, hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion, irradiation damage and modelling (from continuum through to micro and atomic scales) in Nuclear Engineering
- Replication of natural materials
