Terms of reference
The External Advisory Panel’s remit is to act in an advisory role to the Department of Materials, in particular:
1. To provide advice on the structure and content of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses provided by the Department
2. To provide advice on the strategic research focus of the Department. The panel meets in London once a year.
Membership
Members are normally appointed for fixed terms of 5–6 years and asked to commit to attendance throughout their term. Appointments may be extended (e.g., to take up the position of Chair). Membership should cover at least one international academic and one industrial representative relevant to each research theme, as well as alumni and other key stakeholders.
