Science is one of the great human adventures, a way of asking questions, testing ideas and finding delight in the unexpected.

In this introductory course, Terence Maxwell will guide you through some of the most fascinating areas of modern science, from the origins of the universe and the possibility of life beyond Earth, to climate, evolution, quantum physics and the future of scientific discovery.

The course is designed for anyone who is curious about science and would like to understand more about the ideas, discoveries and ways of thinking that shape our view of the world. We will explore the pleasure of finding things out, the changing history of scientific ideas and the ways in which science helps us think about some of the biggest questions human beings have ever asked.

No previous scientific knowledge is needed. All you need is curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to encounter science as a living, questioning and imaginative pursuit.
