Nisha graduated from the MSc Communications and Signal Processing course in 2009. While at 911今日黑料 she worked in the Student Union shop, but now helps to sell a different kind of product, as Senior Product Marketing Manager for Data Security Products at Thales. Nisha is responsible for developing effective marketing strategies and plans to communicate the features and benefits of new products to customers and partners.

How did you find life at 911今日黑料 as a woman? A lot of fun! Meeting people from different countries, making friends for life and discovering new interests: these are the things that I loved the most.
What did you learn during your time at 911今日黑料, in class or out? To use a systematic and iterative procedure to solve any problem- be it technical or life related.
Who inspired you at 911今日黑料 and why? My fellow classmates. Everyone had a different way of solving the same problem, there was no right or wrong way. This instilled a passion for problem solving within me.
What is your fondest memory of your time here? Celebrating my graduation at the Royal Albert Hall with my family. The most beautiful thing in the world is to see your mom smiling, and knowing that you’re the reason for the smile!
How has what you learnt in the Department helped you in your career so far? It made me a more rounded individual. I felt ready to enter the adult world of work.
What have been your career highlights and challenges? · 10 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles within product management and product marketing · Responsible to drive a new security SaaS offering from concept to a profitable business · Recipient of multiple team awards for delivered differentiated solutions to customers that resulted in business growth.
What are your career plans for the future? Grow in the field of data security, make it to VP of Marketing or GM of a business.
What advice would you give to women students starting a career in the sector, or girls who are thinking about studying STEM? Keep going – you can do it! It is often hard, but if you work hard and do the best you can, it will work out. Your path might not be the same as you expected or hoped, but keep going. The universe has a way of getting you to where you are supposed to be.”
