The Department Equality, Diversity and Departmental Culture (EDDC) committee is committed to fostering a positive working culture. The EDDC committee is also responsible for the Department’s and is implementing an action plan aimed at achieving this award. The committee’s remit is:
- To oversee the implementation of the action plan submitted as part of the 2023 application for a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
- To prepare a successful application for a Silver Athena Swan Award in 2028.
- To coordinate the bi-annual Athena Swan Departmental survey.
- To consider and raise awareness of college level and faculty level activities to promote equality and diversity.
- To promote awareness of good practice in supporting equality and diversity in the Department.
