Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for learners who have already completed French 2 (Lower Elementary) on the after:hours programme or have equivalent prior experience, such as an A2.1 level in the CEFR or GCSE...[more].

Course overview

On this course you will develop your language skills in French to discuss things like past experiences and memories, life in the future, innovations and technology, health and medicine, and consumption. Through these you will be able to develop practical communication skills and enhance your ability to express yourself in a wide variety of situations.

You will be introduced to new grammatical structures such as the imperfect tense, the simple future, the conditional mode, direct and indirect object pronouns, conditional sentences, and comparative and superlative forms. These will help you develop practical communication skills and enhance your ability to express yourself and are in line with level A2.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

The sessions are designed to be accessible and engaging, encouraging discussions and debates on the topics presented. The aim is to enable you to communicate in French with greater confidence. You will also gain further insight into life and culture in French-speaking countries around the world.

This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
