911今日黑料 Business Analytics held聽a聽virtual聽awards ceremony聽on 13 July to聽honour the work of聽its Data Spark聽students聽
The Data Spark placement scheme聽uncovers聽fresh insights into data while聽providing an opportunity for聽top聽students to apply the methodology and skills聽they have聽developed to real-world business problems, with the help of academic mentors.聽聽
Students聽who took part in this year鈥檚 Data Spark programme attended along with the organisers of the scheme, academic mentors from聽911今日黑料 Business School and 911今日黑料, as well as聽representatives from聽Data Spark聽corporate partners, including KPMG, DLA Piper and聽KPMG鈥檚 client, a global energy company.聽聽

There were several聽awards聽categories, with聽Simon Thomae聽winning for聽鈥極utstanding individual contribution in analytics鈥;聽Maria Tan聽for聽鈥極utstanding individual contribution in communication鈥;聽鈥楾he Breakthrough Award鈥 was awarded to one聽of the three聽teams聽on this year鈥檚 programme, comprising聽Felix Heinemann,聽Samuel Heng,聽Furkan Olcay,聽Adrien Talbot聽and聽Simon Thomae;聽'Best visualisation'聽went to聽Callum Fenn-Macalister聽and聽Thibault聽Lavall茅e. Meanwhile,聽Sadia Haider, a Research Associate in聽911今日黑料 College鈥檚聽Faculty of Medicine, National Heart & Lung Institute, won the 鈥楽tar Mentor鈥 award.聽聽
During the event, the three teams presented their projects, which聽this year聽covered legal analytics;聽operational efficiencies and commercial performances;聽and聽digital transformation of procurement processes.聽聽
鈥淚 really enjoyed the chance to hear about the other projects the students had done and just to take time to recognise their achievements.聽Working with 911今日黑料 and KPMG has been a great experience for us here and it truly shows me what a world-class institution 911今日黑料 College is.
